CANADA OR BUST

I can't believe it but we're packed and ready to go. Many hours were spent in the RV today trying to find creative ways to turn what limited storage space we have into enough room to fit basically everything needful thing we own (by needful I mean everything). I have nightmares that as with the pioneers western trek I-80 will be strewn with my precious keyboard, sewing machine, scrapbooking, and crafting supplies as Jim attempts to lighten our load with my stuff.

Yes, I do remember that not once did I sew a stitch or craft anything (except term papers) during the three years I worked on my BA, but the point I would like to make is that....I MIGHT. Therefore I must be prepared.

Jim has been in Chicago this week taking care of our Navy son who had surgery last Monday so he will have to get an early start in the morning to catch up with the rest of the wagon train...Sam and Debra pulling the RV followed by Mom, Pam and me in my car.

It's going to be exciting!

  1. Lol, I'm glad you all are traveling in modern vehicles and not what you have depicted in the picture above. I'm thinking I wouldn't see Pam for at least 6 months if you were going by old-time wagon train.

About Me

My photo
Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
In politically correct language I am called a non-traditional student or,as my mother would say, a late-bloomer. For twenty years I was a stay-at-home/home-schooling mom but surprise.. kids grow up. When my son asked me what I was going to do after he left home I told him I was sure it would involve crates of Kleenex, junk food, and a lot of self pity. He suggested college instead and I took him up on it. I graduated in Dec. 09 with a BA in Criminal Justice/Corrections from Park University in Parkville, Mo. Through internships that brought me into contact with both the victims and offenders of violent crime, I have acquired a passion to assist each in addressing issues of accountability and healing through the restorative process of victim-offender mediation. As a 2010-2011 Canada-U.S. Student Fulbright recipient I will travel this fall with my husband and granddaughter, to British Columbia where I will be attending Simon Fraser University's Graduate School of Criminology. With a superb symmetry, Mother, arbitrator of children’s squabbles has progressed to victim-offender mediator.
